What is AFSO? (Aquatics Foundation of Southern Oregon)
Founded in 2007 as a tax-exempt 501 (c) (3) foundation, The Aquatics Foundation of Southern Oregon works to build relationships that support the critical role aquatics play in the well-being of all persons within the Southern Oregon community. Our goal is to mobilize community resources and raise awareness and support for local aquatic programs, including fitness, recreation, sports and therapy. The Foundation actively seeks support from community members, the region’s aquatics teams and recreational aquatics groups, pool facilities, public schools, current and former athletes, for capital projects, aquatic sports education, recreation programs, and scholarships and grants.
As a non-profit organization, we are qualified to receive non-cash gifts and bequests. Assets such as stocks, bonds, mutual funds, real estate, and fine arts will be promptly liquidated. Proceeds will further aquatic fitness, recreation, sports, and therapy opportunities in Southern Oregon communities. You may donate your time, money or auction items and obtain AFSO financial information by contacting the foundation office. Please contact:

Our Mission
Our Mission is to benefit the health of Southern Oregon communities, families and youth by supporting aquatic programs, initiatives, and projects for fitness, recreation, sports, and therapy.
Our Initial Goals
The foundation’s first goal is to assist Southern Oregon University to support their aquatics center and to keep this sporting venue serving the economics and livability of our region.
Recognizing that the aging SOU facility needs replacement, we will work with SOU and local communities in developing replacement plans.
Our Primary Business Purposes:
To coordinate and facilitate fundraising activities.
To establish an endowment for granting funds to aquatic facilities, aquatic programs and athletes.
